Sale Alert :: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

It's finally that time of year! Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale is always one of my favorites and a great chance to snag fabulous finds at a discount. I had a really hard time narrowing it down to a few pieces, but here are the items I've purchased so far:

Trouve Mixed Media Tank: loved the back on this double-layer top

Spanx Jean-ish Leggings: I'm excited to try these jeggings! Normally I'm not a huge fan, but it can be so hard to find a good pair of jeans to wear with booties #thestruggleisreal

Trina Turk Bandeau: I'm really big on mixing and matching swimwear, I loved the back on this bandeau and it will be easy to wear with any solid colored bottoms!

Zella Sports Bra: another item with an amazing back!

Zella Live In Leggings: I bought these last year during the sale, and literally lived in them all winter! My old pair has some holes in it thanks to our cats, so I made sure to grab another since you can't beat the price!

Sale Alert :: Burberry

I've literally been waiting months for Burberry to finally have a sale so I could snag these boots! No joke - I checked about every day... I've been dying to find a nice pair of black booties with gold detail after wearing the hell out of a pair I found at Primark (that definitely won't be making it another season). Well, the Sale is here! If you didn't already know, Nordstrom is having a huge sale (up to 40%) that goes until Sunday (Feb 21st)! I decided to check this sale out in person and picked up this Bernardo coat, I couldn't resist it at 50% off! I only had one really warm jacket for winter (that wasn't a snowboarding coat), so this will be a great addition I can rotate in.

Investment Pieces

I always tell my husband when I buy an expensive bag that it's an 'investment piece.' So thank you Racked.com for proving my point :) If you haven't seen the article yet, you can check it out here. I mean, the Birkin is the ultimate dream purse, I swoon every time I see one. I just tell myself 'maybe some day!' Hey, dream big right!?

Thankfully there are more affordable investment pieces out there that you can add to your closet. They may not make you a huge return, but at the end of the day it's really all about the cost-per-wear! I used to go out and buy a ton of inexpensive purses every season, and finally one year I decided to save the money instead and buy one nice bag, which was the Marc by Marc Jacobs Q bag (here's a newer version of it). After that I was hooked, and started putting away money every month to buy myself a Louis Vuitton. I still put away a little bit every month to save up for my next investment piece (which has expanded to more than just purses...), and taking the time to save also gives me time to think about the item rather than just making an impulse purchase!

My LV Neverfull GM with our cat, Sharkey (when he was still a kitten!). I travel a lot and this bag is my go-to carry-on!
